The Beaufort County Genealogical Society met on 12-2-03 at Brown Library. At 7:00 p.m. president Ann Basnight
welcomed 26 members and guests.
The minutes of the previous meeting were approved and accepted as
read. There treasurer’s reports for
October and November were given. To
date 150 Deed Books have been sold.
Memorials for John Oden are still being received.
Mary Disharoon presented her usual assortment of journals and newsletters. The NGS Journal for September/October advertises
upcoming GENTECH Conference in St. Louis, January 22-24, 2004. Thursday, 22 January will focus on assisting
Librarians serving genealogists. To subscribe

in the body of the message. Additional
seminars will be held in historical cities during the year. More information is forthcoming.
The December issue of Family Chronicle advertises a publication entitled

The Washington County Historic Heritage published a brochure listing 27
Historical Markers located throughout Washington County. Copies will be placed in the History Room.
A new BCGS member, Mary Louise Boyd Malone, Jacksonville, Florida, sent information
and pictures of what she identified as the Isaac Boyd Cemetery on Slatestone
Road. A copy of pertinent information
will be given to Terria for inclusion in the cemetery book and originals
retained in BCGS archives.
No committee reports were made.
We welcome another new member, Maeola Pollard. Joyth Edwards reported member Joyce Bell is hospitalized with
pneumonia.
No business was conducted.
Roger Baynor motioned, Jean Gurkin seconded to adjourn at 7:20 pm. A social hour was enjoyed by all.
