Note: I am William James Rhodes III **~*~**~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~**~*~*~*~*~** I am very much interested in the Rhodes family genealogy but have been up against the wall for years, and thus explained. My gr. gr. grandfather, Will or William Rhodes was born about 1800, we think Pasquotank County. He was married to a woman named Susan A. ???; they raised their family in that county and their son, George Washington Rhodes later married Rebecca Cartwright and moved to Beaufort County. We (five people) cannot prove the parents of William born 1800. I have the line from 1800 up to date and happy to share what I have with others interested. My brother believes the Rhodes were dropped by space craft. In the Episcopal Church yard in Washington are the graves of William Rhodes, Jr., 1770 - 1799 and his brother Fenner, 1779 - 1805, both native of Providence, RI. Frankly, I feel very strongly there is a connection to my Rhodes line but can't fill the gap. This stuff can drive one crazy. I was in Washington Memorial Day to put flowers on the family plot at Oakdale. My youngest brother Bryan died in Montana and had Willed his body to a medical school so I had a memorial stone put in. Our cousin, Frances Rhodes Jowdy was the last of the clan to be buried in the plot. Spent most of the day wandering around the town taking pictures and just walking down memory lane. Found our old house on 2nd street not showing its age to bad. We moved from there during 1932 and I enjoyed every minute of my life while living in Washington. By the way the house is located next to the old Fred Poore house, Christian Church was on the corner across the street. It was a nice neighborhood and I took a picture of the house along with others.
